RELOCATION

We are pleased that you are considering relocating to Cheraw. Cheraw is a lovely, historical town of about 6,000 people. We have been blessed with some wonderful new comers and retirees who have contributed a great deal to the life of the community.

 

Cheraw is an easy drive from Columbia or Charlotte, the beaches and the mountains.  There are fifteen golf courses within thirty miles.  Two are right here in Cheraw. The county has over 96,000 acres of public land. The town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has wide tree lined streets and gardens. The climate is pleasant with distinct seasonal changes, though summers can be warm.

Cheraw is home to Chesterfield General Hospital which is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It was originally established in 1958.

Chesterfield General is a 66 bed community hospital providing a full range of both primary and specialty care services. These include: 24-hour physician staffed emergency room, inpatient and outpatient surgery, ICU, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, and obstetrical/nursery services.

Cheraw has 35 civic clubs including such national groups as Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions and Optimist.

15 major industries including international and Fortune 500 companies have plants in Cheraw.

Almost all religions are represented in Cheraw. A Jewish synagogue is in nearby Florence; a Lutheran church is in Hamlet.
